Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Molly Rogers

Hello! My name is Molly Rogers C'12 and I teach American Literature, English 9 and English 9 Honors. I hope to inspire and nurture a lifelong love of reading for my students and equip them with the written skills and linguistic tools needed to communicate effectively and tell their story.
I am also the Assistant Cheerleading Coach and a member of the Student Engagement committee. I love to plan pep rallies, dress up days and other fun spirit activities that get Wolverines fired up! When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, traveling, listening to Dolly Parton, and spending time outdoors with my dog, Lundy.
I graduated from Sewanee the University of the South with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 2016 and earned a Master's degree in the Art of Teaching for Secondary English/Language Arts at Georgia College and State University in 2020. I am currently pursuing my doctorate in K-12 Leadership and Education Policy at Vanderbilt University. I am especially excited to continue my academic career at Vandy having grown up in a family of Commodore fans, attending countless football games in all kinds of weather.

My current academic and professional interests include reimagining the relationship between school and community in rural America. I hope to one day develop practices and enact policies that meet at the intersection of rural education, community development and partnership, and learning, truly meeting the needs of all stakeholders. My ultimate goal is to change the narrative for students in rural schools, bringing into focus a belief that because of, not in spite of, who they are, they can accomplish anything.
